The Quran and Hadith on Ramadan

THE QURAN ON FASTING

"O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqun (the pious).

(Fasting) for a fixed number of days, but if any of you is ill or on a journey, the same number (should be made up) from other days. And as for those who can fast with difficulty, (i.e. an old man, etc.), they have (a choice either to fast or) to feed a poor person (for every day). But whoever does good of his own accord, it is better for him. And that you fast, it is better for you if only you know." (2:183-84)

"The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion (between right and wrong). So whoever of you sights (the crescent on the first night of) the month (of Ramadan), he must fast that month, and whoever is ill or on a journey, the same number (of days which one did not fast must be made up) from other days.

Allah intends for you ease, and He does not want to make things difficult for you. (He wants that you) must complete the same number (of days), and that you must magnify Allah for having guided you so that you may be grateful to Him" (2: 185).

"It is made lawful for you to have sexual relations with your wives on the night of the fasts. They are garments for you and you are the same for them. Allah knows that you used to deceive yourselves, so He turned to you and forgave you. So now have sexual relations with them and seek that which Allah has ordained for you, and eat and drink until the white thread (light) of dawn appears to you distinct from the black thread (darkness of night), then complete your fast till the nightfall.

And do not have sexual relations with them (your wives) while you are in Itikaf in the mosques. These are the limits (set) by Allah, so approach them not. Thus does Allah make clear His signs to mankind that they may become Al Muttaqun (the pious)" (2:187).

"Verily! We have sent it (this Quran) down in the night of Al-Qadr.

And what will make you know what the night of Al-Qadr is?

The night of Al-Qadr is better than a thousand months

Therein descend the angels and the Ruh (Gabriel) by Allah's Permission with all Decrees,

Peace! until the appearance of dawn (97:1-5)

THE HADITH ON FASTING

Abu Huraira related that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever fasts during Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. Whoever prays during the nights in Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. And he who passes Lailat al-Qadr in prayer with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven (Bukhari, Muslim).

Abu Huraira related that Rasulullah said: If anyone omits his fast even for one day in Ramadan without a concession or without being ill, then if he were to fast for the rest of his life he could not make up for it (Bukhari).

Abu Huraira related that the Prophet said: Allah the Majestic and Exalted said: "Every deed of man will receive ten to 700 times reward, except Siyam (fasting), for it is for Me and I shall reward it (as I like). There are two occasions of joy for one who fasts: one when he breaks the fast and the other when he will meet his Lord" (Muslim).

Abu Huraira related that Rasulullah said: Many people who fast get nothing from their fast except hunger and thirst, and many people who pray at night get nothing from it except wakefulness (Darimi).

When to start fasting

Ibn Umar related that the Prophet said: Do not start fasting unless you see the new moon, and do not end fasting until you see it. If the weather is cloudy then calculate when it should appear (Bukhari, Muslim).

The Suhoor meal (which is eaten before dawn)

Anas related that Rasulullah said: Take the Suhoor meal, for there is blessing in it (Bukhari, Muslim).

Breaking your fast

Salman ibn Amir Dhabi related that the Prophet said: Break your fast with dates, or else with water, for it is pure (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi).

Fasting during a journey

Aisha related that Rasulullah was asked whether one should fast when on a journey, and he replied: Fast if you like, or postpone it if you like (Bukhari, Muslim).

Behavior while fasting

Abu Huraira related that the Prophet said: If a person does not avoid false talk and false conduct during Siyam, then Allah does not care if he abstains from food and drink (Bukhari, Muslim).

Forgetfully eating or drinking while fasting

Abu Huraira related that Rasulullah said: If anyone forgets that he is fasting and eats or drinks he should complete his Siyam, for it is Allah who has fed him and given him drink (Bukhari, Muslim).

Providing for those who are breaking the fast

Zaid ibn Khalid Juhni related that the Prophet said: He who provides for the breaking of the Siyam of another person earns the same merit as the one who was observing Siyam diminishing in any way the reward of the latter (Tirmidhi).

Lailat al-Qadr

Aisha related that the Prophet said: Look for Lailat al-Qadr on an odd-numbered night during the last ten nights of Ramadan (Bukhari).

Anas ibn Malik related that Rasulullah said: When Lailat al-Qadr comes Gabriel descends with a company of angels who ask for blessings on everyone who is remembering Allah, whether they are sitting or standing (Baihaqi).

As the Fajar azan begins
And the 1st holy fast begins
May Allah bless you with happiness
and grace your home with warmth & peace.

Happy Ramdan

Happy Independence day….

Hi everybody ….

I extend my hearty greeting to all you on the occasion of independence day which is on tomorrow 15th aug hope u are all eager to read my day’s update let me first wish u Once again Happy Independence day….

I often sit down brooding whenever I ve little time left for myself after the day’s long toil and hard work. But when I perched to write this article I was bit torn out and confused and had nothing usual to write so as Independence Day is tomorrow I felt that the need of an hour is to enrich my oversea friends with glimpses of the vast and rich culture of our country “India”

To tell something about the vast and diverse culture is really a tiring task as it is so vast that I know not from where to begin .............even than I tried my utmost

We ve been largely a tolerant society embracing and respecting the dignity our friends and foes alike. We are more of a cooperative rather than competitive kind of people. People from different parts of the globe were attracted to India, either quest for material or spiritual aid kept them bringing here. I would not like to go in-depth of our cultural history as to a large extends it is available at any site. Indian culture withstood and flourishes amidst foreign ideologies only because of the fact that we are tolerant, sober and soft spoken people and these qualities have been instilled into us by our parents. Apart from scenic beauty we ve many interesting places to visit. Like beaches, peaks, deserts, monuments, rivers etc…………. I think that’s all for now

Many People

Many States

Many Languages

Many Cultures

Many Religions

These are the Many reasons “I Love My country”

Happy Independence day

Malaysia truly Asia

Trip to Singapore and Malaysia was awesome. It was most memorable trip of my life where we all friends together enjoyed a lot to the fullest of its extent. Every one in the trip was busy with one or the other things all were in study mood as our principal madam was instructed to prepare notes on visited spots and she had ask students to prepare a PPT.

Hmm I was only the student among all who did not follow the instructions of madam, she use to shout on me and I was very expert in defending he he he …

Me and Principal Saleha Ali

hmmm during the trip My most favorite activity was Bird watching (Code sentence “staring at beautiful gals) ha ha ha … I never missed chance of watching beautiful gals of the city of Singapore and Malaysia.

When we were roaming in Singapore we found it is the cleanest country of the world and people are dignified well mannered. Upon entering Malaysia my friends were gossiping that Malaysia is some what dirty and may not be good as Singapore bla bla bla.

Slowly slowly when we were started entering into Malaysia perception of those people got changed and i heard voices like waw, awesome, amazing, cool etc . when we reach Genting High Land through cable car they All forgot Singapore and there comments what they said while traveling. Upon reaching Genting Highland the Only voice i heard from all the Studets was """""""Malaysia truly Asia"""""""

Feb 2009 The most memorable month of my life

I was very busy due to work, my boss had given me many assignment ask me to complete within a month as next moth was march which was business year ending. Being a Employee and regular student of college I was having exams too I was unable to make out time for studies due to work. At the same time my college had planned a study cum entertainment trip to Singapore and Malaysia. I was very much excited to go. But was in tension due to workwork and work.

One fine day I had called to my boss and asked him to approve me Leave for 20 days, Straight away he rejected. He said 20 days is very long time its not possible for me to arrange so many days of Leave. I requested and said I want for my exam and for foreign trip please sir arrange it for me!!!! He replied me very rudely and said “You decide u want holidays for Exams or foreign trip”. so now the decision was with me. I thought for a while and decided to work while exams and take holidays for foreign trip. By the Grace of Allah I was able to work and give exams.

On the 14th of feb 2009 night we went to Bangalore to take our flight to Singapore. Our college has a tie-up with a travel agency they have arranged every thing on behalf of college. On 15th feb 2009 4:50am Indian time of morning we fly to Singapore.

Happy Friendship Day

"Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born"

This beautiful quote relates to my life. There is One friend in my life who represents a world in me. And gave a new direction to my life I really thanks her for being my friend and being my penpal.

I am really very sorry for updating this blog 1 day late coz I promised my friend I will update this on 1-Aug-2009 I m so sorry dear. But there is a reason to break my promise. Today 2-Aug-2009 is “Friendship day” auspicious day for all friends and their friendship which is not less than a festival. This made me to update my blog one day late.

I feel I should very briefly write about my self.

My mum always motivates me by telling, u are like an engine of a train and your brother and sister is boogies. Run in right direction the direction which takes you to success coz your brother and sitter attached to you.

Huh so many responsibilities m worried I can become a person like my father and mothers expectation or not.

Hmmm I will become or not is secondary matter but I will try my level best to be like that.

I think about me it enough today. The more I write next the more u will know about me.

I wish you All Happy And Prosperous Friendship Day and A Rocking Sunday.
